Rate of Pay : $64,480 - $74,880 annually

Function :
The assistant director is part of a leadership team that includes the Transformational Housing director, the clinical case management team lead, the case management lead, the staff supervisor, and the maintenance staff manager. The assistant director's primary role is to support the Director in managing the temporary housing site and navigation center, work in conjunction with the staff supervisor to hire staff, cultivate relationships in leadership to work with in colla6oration with the case management team,
and implement all training, policy, and procedures. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal collaboration skills, motivational skills, the ability to have difficult conversations, time management skills, and the ability to work with a very diverse population.
Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Have a passion for the Mission Statement.
2. Lead and manage site staff to create a positive environment for staff and residents.
3. Lead the team in hiring, training, and program development.
4. Manages HR related issues, including staff discipline and conflict resolution.
5. Train staff to be proficient in responding to simple and complex situations while using trauma-informed care and crisis intervention strategies.
6. Oversees staff schedules, manages payroll, and assesses appropriate staffing levels.
7. Provides support and insight into improving policies, forms, procedures, outcomes etc. with Director to align program functions.
8. Develop, maintain, monitor, evaluate, and enforce policies, procedures, and rules.
9. Mediate and resolve client complaints and incidents.
10. Maintain and ensure the site is being fully used for the community.
11. Initiate networking relationships with appropriate community and service agencies.
12. Encourages and develops coordinated access / connection for residents with necessary community services.
13. Create opportunities and space for the provision of services and training by community partners.
14. Attend trainings, workshops, seminars, community events, and conferences related to this position.
15. Responsible for maintaining confidential, professional boundaries with all clients.
16. Work with volunteers, interns, staff, and outside agencies to facilitate program activities.
17. Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
18. Work a flexible schedule, including some evenings / nights every week.
19. Responsible for Director duties when the Director is absent.
20. Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications :
o Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.
