Job Summary
Advanced practice providers on our team play an integral role in the global management of neurosurgical patients, including all aspects of pre-, intra- and post-operative care. Neurosurgery APPs perform patient histories, help with treatment plans, manage post-operative care, and handle myriad office-related duties and you will work under the supervision of the Neurosurgeons. Essential Job Responsibilities :
- Performs comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
- Interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Interprets and correlates subjective and objective data
- Formulates a differential diagnosis and establishes a working diagnosis
- Develops a treatment plan for neurosurgical conditions within the scope of practice and in conjunction with the neurosurgeon
- Implements therapeutic intervention for specific conditions where appropriate
- Exercises judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising neurosurgeon or other healthcare professionals
Office & Hospital Duties & Responsibilities :
Sees all new office patients and completes a thorough history and physical examination that is problem-oriented for neurosurgical conditionsFirst assistant at surgeryRounds and Consults at HospitalsTakes CallPresents the patient to attending neurosurgeonsHelps to formulate treatment plansOrders appropriate radiographic studiesEvaluates post-operative patients and does routine follow-up visitsIs available to see patients requiring same-day office visitsReturns patient phone callsHandles prescription refillsReviews radiographic reports and laboratory reports for abnormalitiesReviews x-rays, MRIs and CT scans of hospitalized patients and office patients with the attending neurosurgeonEvaluates, screens and counsels patients on health maintenance and promotes utilization of community resourcesDesigns, conducts and / or participates in research studiesManages databasesPerforms quality assuranceComplies with all of our processes and HIPAA regulations.Applies our values in decision-making and interactions with all individuals.Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork.Other duties as assigned by changing needs, patient flow, or physician request.A Valid NC PA or NP License is Required Full Time Company Culture Expectations :
