Reports to : Chief Visioning Officer
Primary Duties
- Establishes infrastructure plans supportive of master planned community scale projects including delivery of culinary and secondary water systems, the management of storm water, delivery of utilities, site grading, and street infrastructure.
- Identifies value engineering opportunities and tests project feasibility.
- Leads due diligence on geotechnical reports, surveys, environmental constraints and other site construction related considerations.
- Directs work of engineering consultants in support of project entitlement and land development.
- Establishes infrastructure budgets and schedules for project business plans.
- Leads land development team in delivery of initial project infrastructure.
- Researches land development trends, construction techniques, and makes recommendations to entitlement team
- Ensures pre-development engineering work complies with local, state, and regulations.
- Builds and maintains productive working relationships with consulting trade partners, city engineering staff, water managers, and public utilities teams.
- Fosters an environment for continuous improvement in development processes and teamwork with internal, external personnel, and potential trade partners
- All other duties as assigned
Experience & Skills
Strong working knowledge of the local construction industry and a broad understanding of real estate development are requiredA minimum of 10 years' experience in land development. Home building and commercial development is desirable.Technical expertise in engineering, cost estimating, scheduling, and construction managementBachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field requiredMaster's degree in real estate, finance, or construction management preferred but not requiredCivil Engineering PE License a plus but not requiredStrong MS excel and Project knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, Bluebeam and other design and tracking tools.Develops expertise in modalities of the entitlement elements such as market research, land use planning, project design, and development of tools for implementation in an effort to effectively deliver projects consistent with the LHMRE brandIs an inquisitive, engaged learner to recognize gaps in experience or understanding and seek opportunities for mentorship and trainingAbility to communicate effectively with a team of skilled and technically trained consultants and contractorsAbility to effectively work in a team environment, and present technical information to non-technical team members to facilitate good decision makingConflict resolution skillsPhysical Requirements
Primarily an in-office position, with frequent walking, standing, and climbing stairs in / around construction site, apartment homes, models, and other propertiesThis position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions (to include but limited to, rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, and sleet), around hazardous chemicals, dust, dirt, and other particulatesMust have the ability to read and comprehend large quantities of information, operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and carry up to 25 lbs. independentlyTo perform other duties as requiredTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.
