POSITION SUMMARY
Behavioral Health Technicians support the function and operations of the treatment facility and the residents we serve. The Behavioral Health Technician ensures the smooth and efficient administration of care while maintaining the quality and integrity of services we provide. This position assists the Counselors, Therapists, and Administrators in setting the tone for the facility to ensure routines and schedules are being followed and met. Behavioral Health Technicians participate in developing and maintaining a therapeutic environment for residents as well as assisting residents in accomplishing treatment goals. The Behavioral Health Technician provides and maintains a clean and safe environment for rehabilitation.

Essential Functions :
- Assisting in the admissions of residents including orientation, intake assessment, urine screen, protocols and recurring assessments, secure search / storage of personal property.
- Hourly adherence toJoint Commission and DHCS resident care standards.
- Proficient documentation in KIPU Systems residents management software.
- Documenting residents daily progress.
- Facility walk-throughs of care environment establishing a consistent presence and awareness of residents behavior.
- Positively interact with residents at all times and provides support
- Transports residents to community resources, transportations hubs and physician appointments
- Assisting with morning and bedtime routines
- Encouraging socially acceptable habits and behaviors (i.e personal hygiene and grooming, table manners,
etc.)
Enforcing policies and proceduresMaintaining infection control and environment of care policies and standards.Facilitating groups as needed, program activities, and maintaining residents schedules.Recurring COWS / CIWA assessment, interaction, observation, and documentation of residents.Communicating thoroughly between shifts.Assisting as needed in Crisis Intervention.Assisting in residents discharge, facilitating residents transportation and continuity of care with next level of care environment and / or facility.Other duties as assigned by management.Competencies :
Ability to multi-task, delegate tasks, manage residents care, maintain facility standards.Desire to assist those with chemical dependency in their recoveryStrongprofessional and ethical boundariesEducation :
Minimum High School Graduate or GED.RADT registrationExperience :
2 years experience in the field of recovery or equivalent human services work experience preferred.Prior experience in detox environment highly desired.Computer Skills :
Computer Literacy in doc, spreadsheet, and email.Ability to learn proficiency in KIPU Systems Residents Management SoftwareCertificates & Licenses :
Valid Drivers LicenseCPR / First AIDDrug and Alcohol Counseling Credential or Internship PreferredOther Requirements :
