Cardiologist (Advanced Heart Failure & Heart Transplantation) - Kansas City

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, is seeking a clinically oriented and energetic CHF / VAD / Heart Transplant cardiologist to join the Division of Advanced Heart Failure Therapeutics & Cardiac Transplantation. Currently, the division has 5 ABIM Board-certified CHF / VAD / Heart Transplant faculty members, all of whom trained at world-class institutions. In addition, there are 2 highly skilled and dedicated CVTS surgeons on the KU team. The CHF / VAD / Heart Transplant Program at KU is very robust and has seen exponential growth in volume over the past 5-6 years. Over the past 5 years, KU has performed 40-47 heart transplants and 45-50 LVADs per year. Over the next 3-5 years, the program is looking to grow to 60-80 heart transplants per year along with 50-70 LVADs per year. Finally, the program has significant and unwavering support from the institution regarding nursing and physician extender support as well as infrastructure support.

About the position :

• Clinical practice and teaching activities are based at the University of Kansas Health System with satellite clinic locations and accredited outpatient diagnostic centers
• Clinical activities will include consultative cardiology to include complex heart failure management, pre and post VAD management, pre and post cardiac transplant management, and also non-invasive cardiac imaging
• Opportunities to engage in clinical and research programs in the breadth of cardiovascular medicine
• Participate in educational conferences
• Academic appointment
