Buonora Child Development Centers is currently seeking a skilled Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our team. We have a full and / or part-time position depending on what you are looking for. The ideal candidate maximizes the potential of each child by working collaboratively with the child and parent / caregiver, and collaborating with fellow staff members also providing services to the child to develop a plan that effectively enhances growth through the performance of activities required in daily life. The PT / PTA focuses on the restoration, maintenance, and promotion of optimal physical function. They understand and provide an individualized approach for each child and family to ensure a comprehensive program. The therapist also aids and supports families in identifying specific concerns, priorities, and resources.
Physical Therapist / PTA Job Duties :
Administer a thorough evaluation of child that includes :
Patient / client history
Performing tests and measures to identify potential and existing problems
Conduct system reviews
Establish diagnosis, prognoses, and plan of treatment as needed
Construct goals that are directly related to child’s needs
Provide child related interventions, conduct re-evaluations and / or discharges as necessary
Modify interventions as necessary to achieve anticipated goals and expected outcomes
Promote Independence, increase child participation, facilitate motor development and function, improve strength, endurance and ease the challenges that come with daily caregiving
Diagnose and manage movement dysfunction, enhance physical and functional abilities
Restore, maintain, and promote not only optimal physical function but optimal wellness, fitness and quality of life as it relates to movement and health
Provide parent / caregiver with information and coach on techniques and activities that will help the child move toward goals and objectives.
Be able to demonstrate and provide a Home Exercise Program when appropriate
Be able to communicate with parent / caregiver regarding appointments (booking, cancelling or rescheduling), child progress and / or concerns of child, etc.
Comfortable supervising PTAs
Minimum Education / Training Required :
Graduate from an accredited (CAPTE) Physical Therapy program
RPT, MPT or DPT from PT program
License, Registration or Certification Required :
Licensure by the Physical Therapy Board of California
Current CPR / First Aid Certification.
Minimum Experience Required :
Field Work or more experience as a pediatric physical therapist or PTA, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work weekends when / if needed and reply to work related emails and or text messages within 24 hours.
Bilingual Spanish speaking applicants, preferred.
Additional Requirements :
Present an up to date TB test
Must have a reliable car and maintain proof of auto insurance
Must have proficient computer skills
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
