Manager - Financial Services - Data & Analytics - Data Management and Strategy

EY is the only professional services firm with a separate business unit ("FSO") that is dedicated to the financial services marketplace. Financial institutions are looking to build smarter and more efficient ways to operate their business, through new opportunities uncovered by their data. Our clients look to us as trusted advisors to provide insights on how to ingest, interpret, and manage their data. We specialize in Data Management and Strategy (DMS), Data Products Management (DPM), Data Architecture and Engineering (DAE), and Data Analytics and Insights (DAI).

The opportunity

You will help our clients navigate the complex world of Information Data Governance and Data Quality. The Data Governance and Data Quality Analyst will specialize in serving EY clients in the areas of Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Definition and Usage, and Data Management. We'll look to you to provide our clients with a unique business perspective on how Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Definition and Usage, and Data Management can transform and improve their entire organization - starting with key business issues they face. This is a high growth area with plenty of opportunities to enhance your skillset and build your career.

Your key responsibilities

You'll spend most of your time managing client engagement teams, working with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services, and managing business development activities on strategic and global priority accounts.

To qualify for the role, you must have

Undergraduate or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. engineering, computer science, business, economics, finance, statistics, and / or analytics)

Minimum of 5 years' experience in banking, capital markets, insurance or asset management providing complex consultative services in the following focus areas : information strategy, data architecture, information / data governance, master data management, data quality, data integration, metadata management, privacy and security, records management, data risk and controls.

Superior communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills with the ability to effectively advocate technical solutions and results to technology and business audiences at all levels and disciplines within EY and client organizations

Experience presenting analytical conclusions to senior officials in a company and other stakeholders

Superior communication (verbal and written) with the ability to lead meetings, hold workshops with executives, effectively advocate technical solutions and results to technology and business audiences

Proven application of advanced analytical and statistical methods in the financial services space

Experience working independently, efficiently and effectively under extreme time constraints and delivering results by critical deadlines

Collaborate with our data scientists to map data fields to hypotheses and curate, wrangle, and prepare data for use in their advanced analytical models

Demonstrated senior-level leadership (thought leadership or people leadership e.g. managed project teams or direct reports) in engaging with C-level executives and technical clients

Practical experience in leading and managing teams through a product life cycle - requirements, design, development and testing

Practical experience using latest technologies for data ingestion, storage, mining / warehousing, big data analytics, manipulation, and visualization

Practical experience and familiarity with some of the following tools and technologies :

SAS, R, Python, SPSS, MapR, Flume, Hue, Impala, predictive analytics, Tableau, Spotfire, and Java

Working knowledge of the modernized information management tool landscape (e.g., Talend, Collibra, Oracle DRM, SAP MDM, Informatica, SQL, Alation, Purview).

Meaningful experience in multiple database technologies such as :

Distributed Processing (Spark, Hadoop, EMR)

Traditional RDBMS (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)

MPP (AWS Redshift, Teradata),

NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Neo4J, Titan)

Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Platform, Databricks, Snowflake)

Experience with client-facing activities such as requirements gathering, facilitating meetings, presentation creation, and ability to prepare client ready deliverables

Ability to quantify improvement in business areas resulting from optimization techniques through use of business analytics and / or statistical modeling

Ability to integrate new knowledge and adapt to change with a natural curiosity and desire to learn

Project management and process development expertise in client serving roles

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to understand business challenges and translate them into analytics solutions

Excellent leadership and teaming skills

A willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 80%-90%

Valid US passport

Ideally, you'll also have

Degree emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Computer Science, IT or Engineering preferred

Prior consulting experience

Experience monitoring performance, reporting, and economics of ongoing progress for the major initiatives of the business unit you support.

Experience working independently, efficiently and effectively under extreme time constraints and delivering results by critical deadlines

Experience quantifying results to the business, from the front line to senior executives

Experience with designing, developing, or implementing AI or other automation solutions

Experience with interpreting and adhering to US and international data related regulatory requirements

Experience with identifying, managing, and controlling data risk

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,500 to $230,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,700 to $261,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.

Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.

Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
