About the Role :
The Payroll Specialist will oversee and process weekly, multi-state payroll for both union and non-union employees. This individual will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all payroll activities and work closely with HR and accounting to support field operations.
Responsibilities :
Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including certified payroll and union reporting
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts
Assist with benefits, deductions, and garnishment administration
Generate and submit certified payroll reports as required for public projects
Qualifications :
3+ years of payroll experience, ideally within the construction industry
Hands-on experience with Sage 300 (Timberline) required
Knowledge of union payroll, prevailing wage, and certified payroll reporting preferred
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
Proficiency in Excel and general accounting principles
