Senior Industrial Engineer – ETO & Continuous Improvement

Location : Minneapolis, MN (55421)

About the Role

A global leader in precision manufacturing technologies is hiring a Senior Industrial Engineer with deep expertise in engineer-to-order (ETO) and continuous improvement . This organization is known for its commitment to innovation and engineering excellence.

What You'll Do

Continuous Improvement

Lead transformative lean initiatives across operations
Identify and implement impactful enhancements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost

Quality & Root Cause Analysis

Manage systems for tracking and resolving quality issues

Conduct root cause analysis and implement CAPA

Collaborate cross-functionally to promote a quality-first culture

Training & Knowledge Management

Develop training programs and competency tracking

Continuously improve SOPs and work instructions

Data Analysis & Reporting

Analyze operational data to identify trends and inefficiencies

Create dashboards and KPIs to support decision-making

ERP Optimization

Enhance ERP workflows (BOMs, routing, material flow)

Support upgrades, process mapping, and user training

Process Engineering

Optimize manufacturing processes tailored to ETO workflows

Support capacity planning and scalability

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with internal teams and suppliers to drive strategic initiatives

Ensure manufacturability and process efficiency from order to delivery

What You Bring

Education & Experience

Bachelor's in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering (Master's preferred)

8+ years in ETO or low-volume manufacturing

Experience with quality systems, root cause tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D), and CAPA

Background in SOP development and ERP improvement initiatives

Skills & Competencies

Strong communication and facilitation skills

Proficient in lean principles and continuous improvement

Skilled in Excel, Power BI, Tableau

Familiar with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics)

Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume environment
