Senior Software Engineer - Marketplace

About the Opportunity

As a Software Engineer on Contentful’s Marketplace Ecosystem team, you will play a vital role in enhancing and supporting our App Marketplace and App Framework, enabling impactful extensibility for both internal and external developers.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain the App Marketplace, including building in-house apps, improving external developer contributions with a focus on security, and enhancing the app framework. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address the needs and challenges of our customers and partners, working toward solutions that improve productivity and satisfaction. Your expertise in creating seamless, intuitive developer experiences will directly contribute to Contentful’s growth and customer engagement.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about building innovative solutions, optimizing processes, and improving scalability while balancing strategic thinking with effective problem-solving. Experience with modern full-stack development trends, tooling, and maintaining public open-source libraries is beneficial.

What to expect?

App Marketplace :

• Design, plan, and build improvements to the Contentful App Marketplace, from usability and developer experience to security hardening to accessibility.
• Find process improvements and technical solutions to external contributions, reducing friction to contribution without concessions to security and user confidence.
• Design and implement strategies that improve Contentful’s developer user experience.
• Build tools and frameworks that streamline the end-to-end development process.
• Identify and develop product enhancements to maximize the platform’s extensibility.
• Collaborate with UX / UI designers to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for developer products.

Colorado Salary Statement : The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data / ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD / technology), for example.

Colorado Salary Range : $174,000 - $189,000

[This position is eligible for equity awards in accordance with the terms of Contentful’s equity plans.]
