About The Position

🩺 Position Description

A well-established Level 1 Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center in Ohio is seeking a Locum Advanced Practice Provider (PA or CNP) to provide overnight Neuro Critical Care coverage beginning late October / early November through February / March 2026 .

This position involves working independently in a high-acuity Neuro ICU , managing critically ill adult patients and covering neurosurgical consults during night shifts. You’ll join a collaborative team of 3 APPs with neurointensivists available by phone overnight .

🕒 Shift(s) Description :

12-hour night shifts : 6 : 00 PM – 6 : 00 AM

Schedule Options : 7 on / 7 off OR alternating 4 shifts one week, 3 the next

Inpatient only; No call responsibilities

Job Requirements

🧠 Clinical Details :

Setting : Hospital-based Neuro ICU

Patient Population : 100% Adult

Trauma Involvement : ~40%

Neuro ICU Census : ~10 patients per night

Neurosurgical Consults : Avg. 5 per night

Documentation System : Epic

Facility Designation : Level 1 Trauma Center & Comprehensive Stroke Center

Other Neurologists : None on-site during night shifts

Support : Neurointensivists available by phone, 3 APPs in group

Labs & Imaging : On-site

✅ Requirements

PA or CNP – Board Certified – Required

Active Ohio State License – Required (no exceptions)

Clean Background – Required (no exceptions)

BLS & ACLS Certifications – Required

ENLS Certification – Highly Preferred

Must be experienced working in a Neuro ICU within a Level 1 Trauma setting

Stroke patient experience and ability to cover neurosurgical consults at night – Required

Must be available for the full assignment beginning late October / early November
