Metallurgical Engineer (Metallurgist)

ROLE OVERVIEW : We are seeking a dedicated Product Metallurgical Engineer to lead the charge in driving continuous improvement for the manufacturing and performance of automotive, packaging, and industrial sheet products. This role focuses on optimizing processes, ensuring product quality, and leveraging expertise in metallurgy and material science to meet industry standards and customer satisfaction.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Translate customer and industry requirements into comprehensive process designs, control plans, FMEAs, and production work instructions, ensuring flawless execution.
• Monitor process performance and success metrics to identify opportunities for improvement in products and operations.
• Develop and implement innovative solutions using expertise in material science and metallurgy to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
• Design and execute experiments to address manufacturing challenges and develop new production methodologies.
• Assess the impact of equipment and operational changes on product quality and establish controls to ensure consistency.
• Enhance equipment reliability and uptime while adhering to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
• Engage in hands-on troubleshooting and provide on-call responses to operational disruptions, ensuring quick resolution and long-term solutions.
• Offer technical guidance and problem-solving support to production and maintenance teams, leveraging advanced quality systems and reliability tools.
• Initiate improvement projects to address safety and quality concerns, drive cost efficiency, and strengthen customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949, ISO 17025) through audits, process controls, and adherence to quality protocols.
