Job description

We are seeking a Business Analyst for a local government with a track record of hands-on experience in :

  • Performing data analysis to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinating and assisting with daily transit and administrative operational activities.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams and improving process efficiencies.
  • Measuring, monitoring key performance indicators, and assisting operational teams to achieve them.

Key responsibilities for this position are as follows :

  • Directs and develops initiatives to improve quality and efficiency of services offered by agency.
  • Assists in the creation of key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the business unit.
  • Measures and monitors the performance effectiveness of the business unit against key performance indicators and identify actionable areas for improvement.
  • Gathers and analyzes operational data to identify opportunities for process improvement using tools such as pivot charts in Excel, Microsoft Power BI, or similar Business Intelligence tools.
  • Performs statistical analysis such as regression analysis, to identify trends, make presentations and ad-hoc reports to drive better business decisions.
  • Learns and uses existing transit specific applications, run reports, and provide operational metrics for review and analysis.
  • Manages vendors and their deliverables, holding them accountable to contractual terms, tracking budgets and coordinating system enhancements.
  • Supports and assists with the continuous improvement of technologies such as Computer Aided Dispatch & Automated Vehicle Location system, Yard Management system and asset management system
  • Conducts research on best practices and industry trends in innovative business solutions.

    • Basic requirements :

  • At least 2 years of verifiable data analytic experience
  • Heavy proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft BI
  • Proficiency in SQL querying
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in transit or fleet management
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in AssetWorks, TransTrack, ChargePoint reporting, Geotab Fleet Tracking, or FuelMaster applications

    • Work Location : In person

    Job Types : Full-time, Contract

    Pay : $30.00 - $32.00 per hour

    Schedule :

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

    • Experience :

  • Data analytics : 2 years (Required)
  • Microsoft Excel : 2 years (Required)
  • SQL : 1 year (Required)
