Our client is looking for a strategic leader to drive growth through business development and M&A within their construction aggregates division. This role focuses on identifying and acquiring new assets, integrating them post-close, and divesting non-core operations. You'll be involved in the full M&A lifecycle-from sourcing and due diligence to execution and integration-while working closely with the leadership team. Reporting directly to the VP of Business Development and Finance, this high-visibility role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of a well-funded company with aggressive growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, including greenfield sites, strategic partnerships, and acquisition targets.
- Drive deal flow through proactive sourcing, seller outreach, and management of the proprietary deal pipeline.
- Analyze regional demand trends and competitive positioning to inform strategic growth and acquisition decisions.
- Lead preliminary and full due diligence efforts-financial, legal, operational, and environmental-to assess fit and guide go / no-go decisions.
- Develop detailed financial models and valuation analyses to support investment decisions and capital deployment.
- Negotiate and execute transactions in collaboration with internal teams and external advisors (e.g., bankers, lawyers).
- Direct cross-functional teams to ensure successful post-acquisition integration aligned with operational and cultural standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with property owners, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define strategic priorities and support broader business development initiatives.
- Conduct ad-hoc strategic analyses and create compelling presentation materials for executive leadership and the Board.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or active corporate M&A-preferably within the construction materials or aggregates industry.Proven track record of leading successful acquisitions and integrations.Strong financial acumen with expert-level proficiency in valuation, financial modeling, and strategic planning.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with executive presence and the ability to engage senior leadership.Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong work ethic, including flexibility to work extended hours when needed.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.#IND
