Bridge Structural Group Manager

We are partnered with a well-established and growing Engineering firm that's seeking an experienced Bridge Structural Group Manager to lead their growing bridge design team in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer in Missouri with a strong background in bridge design, rehabilitation, and project delivery for state and local transportation clients. This leadership role will combine technical expertise, project management, and team development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Bridge Structural Group, overseeing staff, workload, and project delivery.

Serve as project manager and technical lead for bridge and structural engineering projects for MoDOT, municipalities, and other clients.

Provide design expertise in steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete bridge structures, retaining walls, and culverts.

Develop and maintain client relationships, pursue new business opportunities, and assist in proposal preparation.

Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence within the team.

Ensure quality control, adherence to budgets and schedules, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.

Missouri Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

10+ years of experience in bridge and structural design, including at least 3 years in a leadership or project management role.

Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and MoDOT standards.

Proficiency in bridge design software (e.g., LEAP Bridge, MIDAS, LARSA, SAP2000, or equivalent).

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple concurrent projects.
