Gastroenterology Fellowship Program Director needed in Phoenix, AZ

(Physician / MD qualifications required) Gastroenterology (Academic / Research) - This large physician medical group in Phoenix, AZ is actively seeking an experienced, board certified gastroenterologist and physician leader to serve as the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program Director. The Fellowship is a three-year, six-fellow program, with initial accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

This team practices in a 571-bed academic, Level 1 trauma, medical center and attached clinics with support from Hepatology, Liver transplant, Advanced Endoscopy Services, General Surgery, all Surgical Subspecialties, Pathology, and Radiology. Be part of an expanding team of existing Gastroenterologists with APP support within the clinic setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• 75% Clinical | 25% Academic
• Maintain ongoing certification and compliance with ACGME requirements
• Be a role model of professionalism
• Ensure the program's compliance with institutional policies and procedures and ACGME requirements
• Oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education, develop and review program curricula, and monitor fellow supervision at all participating sites.
• Work with other departments and other clinical sites to develop and maintain appropriate clinical and educational rotations for the fellows and residents
• Regularly assess and promote fellow well-being while fostering an environment in which diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the forefront of fellows' clinical and academic experiences
• Develop opportunities for bidirectional communication with fellows and faculty
• Oversee and facilitate faculty and fellow evaluations and performance management with feedback
