SCOPE OF POSITION :
Caregivers working in Sally's House are caring for children in emergency situations for children 2 to 12 years of age that are removed from their home due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, or criminal activity. They provide a caring, safe, and loving home for up to 20 children at one time.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE :
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Have at least one year of successful experience working with children
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :

Function as a team memberFollow all policies and procedures as outlined in the policies and procedures handbookFollow all Child Safety policies and proceduresCommunicate program needs & children's needs to supervisorsDirectly supervise children in careProvide consistency and structureActively lead & participate in the children's daily activities including bathing, meal times, sports activities, learning activities, swimming, field trips & tutoringFollow posted schedules unless directed otherwise by a supervisorDocument children's daily activitiesModel appropriate social and interpersonal behaviors for the childrenAssist the children in identifying and meeting their physical needsFollow guidelines for the discipline of children, including proper implementation of the behavior management programOffer guidance to the children as neededClean the facility when neededDo laundry when neededAssist with snow removal when necessaryServe food to the children at meal times and snack timesReport allegations of abuse / neglect to a supervisor and to CPS within 24 hoursMake sure that the facility remains secure by keeping windows and doors locked and by reporting any security concernsContribute to a positive morale in the programDevelop positive, professional relationships with coworkersSupport new employees and practicum students by helping them understand the program and policies and proceduresAssist children in going to appointments and school as needed by riding along, or walking children to destinationsAll other duties as assignedPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Parental Leave : The benefit is 40 hours of Paid Leave for qualifying events.
Sick Leave : 12 days of Sick Leave annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after three months' service time.
Paid Vacation :
Two weeks annually, accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions.Four weeks annually, accruing from day one, for exempt positions.Accrued vacation is eligible for use after six months' service time.Paid Holidays : 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year
