Job description

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Client Billing Specialist responsible for charge entry on specific client accounts in accordance with facility agreements and pricing. This role involves managing business-to-business invoicing, collections, researching accounts, and educating clients on billing matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Verify charges submitted to clients are billed accurately in accordance with guidelines.
  • Confirm rates and fee arrangements for individual matters.
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems.
  • Send monthly client statements based on client preferences.
  • Research credit balances.
  • Call clients to inquire about the state of payments.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure seamless financial transactions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-3 years in a medical / dental office setting, preferably in a customer facing role or as a front desk associate.
  • Customer Service & Communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Basic knowledge of medical billing processes, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates solid time management skills and organization.
  • Ability to work with moderate guidance; proactive and motivated self-starter.
  • Flexibility and proven ability to handle frequent changes effectively.
  • Knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, and general laws related to all payers.
  • Basic knowledge of CPT, ICD-10.

  • Previous experience with Business-to-Business (B2B) communications.
  • Possess professionalism, superior organizational skills, and communication skills to educate and influence.
  • Drive for Results - Ensure delivery of quality results and continual reassessment for improvement.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills; willingness to share and receive information.
  • Commitment to team and organizational success through teamwork.
  • Customer Service Focus - Demonstrate a focus on understanding and exceeding client / customer expectations.

  • Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
  • Health Benefits / Dental / Vision (Medix offers 6 different health plans : 3 Major Medical Plans, 2 Fixed Indemnity Plans (Standard and Preferred), and 1 Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Plan. Eligibility for health benefits is based on verifying that an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the work assignment has been met.
