The Paleontological Field Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of paleontologists in planning and conducting field surveys, and reporting tasks related to paleontological resources in support of utility-scale energy development projects.

B.S. or B.A degree with an emphasis in paleontology or geologyMinimum of 6 years monitoring and survey experience in states such as Utah, Nevada, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, ArizonaAbility to be permitted as a Field Agent / Field Supervisor on paleontological permitsPrior experience with paleontological mitigation projects including construction monitoring and paleontological surveysDemonstrate proficiency in recognizing various types of fossils, determination of fossil significance, familiarity with collection methods, and advanced knowledge of paleontological field techniquesKnowledge of basic geology skills such as :Geologic descriptionsMeasuring stratigraphic columnsRecognizing vertebrate, invertebrate, plant, and trace fossilsKnowledge around the use and appropriate application of excavation tools and practicesExperience in personnel managementAbility to work long hours in potentially extreme weather conditionsAbility to travel for extended periods of time or relocateCompetence using global positioning system units, maps, tablets, and submeter accuracy devicesThe ability to operate a four-wheel drive vehicle over rough terrainThe ability to perform work duties independently or as part of a teamCapable of walking / hiking long distancesClear communicator, highly organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, and dependableAbility to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors.PREFERRED EXPERINECE :
