Position Overview
The Engineering Department manages and supports technical operations across The Last Mile organization, including internal tooling and our Platform as a Service (PaaS), which operates in prisons nationwide. Daily engagements range from fielding ad-hoc requests supporting remote facilities to proactively monitoring our PaaS infrastructure and deployments using our automation frameworks. This is a highly collaborative role with the opportunity to engage with an extensive range of systems and technologies.
This position reports to the VP of Engineering and is a remote-based role, but requires some travel to our San Francisco, CA office and facilities within the Bay Area. The salary range is based on the employee's geographic location and experience.
Responsibilities
The Network Automation Engineer is engaged with all aspects of networking technology for The Last Mile, including internal infrastructure, remote staff connectivity, and networks supporting the program's services. This includes involvement in the selection process for hardware, cabling, vendors, tooling, authentication, and network platforms in support of organizational requirements and designing their implementation, all the way through deployment, monitoring, managing operational support, and maintenance. This role is also responsible for managing and supporting our zero-trust network infrastructure and ensuring the organization maintains suitable controls and audit mechanisms.
