Director of Sustaining Engineering

A company is looking for a Director of Sustaining Engineering to oversee sustaining efforts for their safety technology platform.

Key Responsibilities

Translate problem sets from non-technical stakeholders into clear, testable engineering scenarios

Lead and mentor a team of contractors to diagnose, prioritize, and resolve sustaining bugs and issues

Oversee root cause analysis and product lifecycle sustainment strategies to ensure long-term reliability

Required Qualifications

10+ years of engineering experience

Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in embedded systems engineering, IoT engineering, and engineering sustainment

Proficiency in C firmware development for embedded systems

Experience with version control (e.g., Git), Docker, and VPN software

Strong understanding of LoRa and Bluetooth protocol stacks
