Job Purpose / Summary

Join our interdisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and human factors experts to develop advanced machine learning and algorithmic data capabilities focused on space and cybersecurity applications. We are currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist to enhance our space-oriented product line. This role involves hands-on development and validation of machine learning models designed to transform satellite data into actionable insights.

The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated expertise in data science, coupled with experience in project management and oversight of technical teams, including subcontractors. Occasional travel, primarily within the DC / MD region, will be necessary to participate in data collection, validation, and customer engagement activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate machine learning solutions to interdisciplinary problems in cybersecurity and telecommunications, working with structured (time series, tabular) and unstructured (text, 3D) data.
• Collaboratively develop data collection plans, designing experiments to ensure quality and usefulness of data.
• Work with human factors specialists, and data / full stack engineers to define system requirements, review developed code, and support translating statistical concepts to coworkers.
• Support documentation of analysis results for semi-technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical project management support, overseeing technical progress of subcontractors, providing review of technical deliverables, and helping task subcontractors during in-person data collection and model validation opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and program management colleagues to define and clarify technical system requirements
