American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab Technologist with strong stimming and advanced interventional cardiology skills for a short-term acute care setting.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a short-term acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma designationCath Lab unit with patient caseloads ranging from 7 to 20 cases per tech per dayProcedures include balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, rotablader, left / right heart catheterization, arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, electrophysiology evaluation, AICD insertion / programming, LAA closure, pacemaker insertion, watchman, Tilt Table Study, and Afib ablations (RF and Cryo)Requires scrubbing, monitoring, circulating, and EKG skills4x10 hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM with on-call requirements as neededCharting is performed in Cerner; Cerner experience is preferredNo weekend shifts requiredFirst-time travelers are not acceptedPreceptors are expected to mentor and train new cath lab techsNo floating within hospital or to affiliate facilitiesNo locals accepted; a 100-mile radius living requirement is in placeReturn staff must wait one year before reapplying as a traveler and currently may only return in selected specialtiesNo RTO allowed in the contract; time off may be discussed with the unit manager on site as appropriateAny color scrubs permittedSmoke-free facilityParking is provided at no costRequired compliance documents are due ten days before the start datePre-arrival modules must be completed; up to 4 hours billable for Allied health staff\n \n Requirements\n
Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab Tech experience requiredPreceptor experience is required and must be willing to train newer techsStrong experience with stimmingBLS and ACLS certifications requiredExperience with advanced interventional procedures, EP studies, and device insertions requiredMust be able to pass an EKG exam within 3 attemptsCOVID-19 vaccination required; exemptions for medical or religious reasons acceptedFL license or compact license required at time of considerationCandidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
