GENERAL SUMMARY :
Greater Louisville Inc. (GLI) is seeking a relationship-driven, detail-oriented professional to serve as Community & Talent Engagement Manager. This role supports GLI's community-facing talent attraction and engagement initiatives under the Live in Lou brand. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is excited to help promote Louisville as a great place to live and work by building relationships with universities, employers, and community partners; supporting intern and newcomer initiatives; and coordinating ambassador programming through City Champs. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized team player who is comfortable managing projects, connecting with diverse audiences, and using data to inform outreach and engagement strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS :
Under general supervision, the ideal candidate will perform the following duties :
Talent Outreach & Community Engagement
Coordinate with universities, alumni offices, K-12 educational institutions and community partners to support talent outreach and student / graduate engagement with the goal of retaining graduating talent in the region.Support Greater Louisville's talent attraction campaigns by tracking and responding to relocation inquiries generated through paid partnerships and boomerang marketing efforts.Assist with welcome and relocation events, campus initiatives, and talent-focused campaigns.Develop, update and distribute content and materials to support outreach and communications.Employer Concierge & Relationship Support
Serve as a point of contact for employers recruiting or relocating talent to Louisville.Understand and provide talent materials, relocation resources, and coordinate welcome packages or tours for relocation candidates.Gather feedback from employers and employees to help identify barriers and solutions related to talent attraction and retention.Audit existing talent resources and improve or expand content and materials based on community need.Intern & Emerging Talent Programs
Assist with the coordination of GLI-led intern engagement efforts, including the Next Gen Lou Intern Summit .Support logistics, outreach, and employer connections for intern-focused initiatives.City Champs Program
Serve as the primary coordinator of GLI's City Champs ambassador program, including onboarding, communication, training logistics, newsletters, and engagement events.Act as the main point of contact to City Champs partner organizations.Maintain member tracking in GLI's CRM (GrowthZone) and update program content, with support from the broader GLI team.Strengthen partnerships with "new to Louisville" stakeholders and explore opportunities for bilingual or expanded program offerings.Build and maintain strong relationships with Champs partners serving "new to Lou" populations (e.g., employers, nonprofits, universities, and community organizations).Reporting & Collaboration
Maintain project documentation and use GLI's CRM (GrowthZone) to track activities.Collaborate across departments on joint talent and workforce initiatives.Assist with content and preparation of presentations, newsletters, and reports that promote GLI's talent efforts.Talent Steering Committee
Re-establish and manage a Talent Steering Committee , an advisory group that helps guide GLI's talent and workforce strategies through data review and employer insight.Re-engage members and recruit new participants.Schedule and facilitate bi-annual or quarterly meetings.Track regional workforce trends and maintain related talent data.Organize the steering committee to help distribute resumes received from talent efforts to help with relocation.Draft and distribute GLI's annual Talent Survey to regional employers; analyze and share results.Consolidate committee advice into actionable insights and share findings.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field3-5 years of experience in outreach, events, marketing, or community engagement; a combination of education and experience may be considered when proficiency is demonstratedDemonstrated experience in project management, coordination, and event planningExperience managing volunteer or ambassador programs is preferredStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlinesExcellent written, verbal, and public speaking communication skillsProven ability to build and maintain relationships across sectors and with diverse stakeholdersComfortable working with clear goals, accountability, and performance expectationsAbility to manage, interpret, and act on dataExecution-oriented mindset with a collaborative, team-first approachCreative problem-solver with a detail-oriented and deadline-driven work styleProficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); experience with WordPress, Slack, and CRM systems is a plusFamiliarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) preferredValid driver's license in good standingThe incumbent will be required to pass a background check in accordance with our hiring practices and must be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s / he encounters.
