Product Manager - Platform Teams

Octopus Deploy sets the standard for Continuous Delivery, empowering software teams to deliver value in an agile way. Over 4,000 organizations globally including Ubisoft, Domino's Pizza, Nike, Xero, Stack Overflow, NASA, and Disney rely on our Continuous Delivery, GitOps, and release orchestration solutions.

We're a profitable scale-up of 350+ people, growing steadily. We've built a high-trust, remote-first, and value-driven culture where people are given space to do their best work.

About the role :

We're looking for a Product Manager to focus on Platform Teams. The world's largest organizations often have Platform Teams responsible for implementing Continuous Delivery patterns and practices to ensure standardization and compliance across many application development teams. Supporting the Platform Teams in achieving their goals is a primary mission for Octopus Deploy.

Why this job is exciting :

  • Shape the future of Continuous Delivery. You'll help thousands of engineering teams ship software faster, safer, and with confidence.
  • Real impact, real users. Octopus is used by over 4,000 organizations worldwide deploying everything from financial systems to healthcare platforms to games. Your decisions directly improve how they deliver software every day.
  • Empowered teams. The best outcomes come from teams that own their decisions. You'll have real autonomy to shape direction, backed by the support and trust of your peers.
  • Collaborate with experienced, passionate peers. You'll join a team of engineers, designers, and product thinkers who care deeply about their craft and about helping customers succeed.
  • A stable, independent company. Octopus is profitable, self-funded, and growing sustainably giving you the freedom to focus on building great products.
  • Remote-first and flexible. We've been remote for over ten years, with a culture built around trust, autonomy, and asynchronous collaboration.

What you'll do :

  • Work closely with customers. You'll spend time understanding how real teams use Octopus, uncovering pain points and opportunities to make their lives easier.
  • Solve problems, as a team. You'll partner with engineers, designers, and other PMs to explore ideas, validate solutions, and deliver changes that matter.
  • Balance discovery and delivery. You'll guide your team through the full product lifecycle, from research and prioritization to release and iteration.
  • Champion clarity. You'll communicate decisions, context, and priorities clearly so your team can stay aligned and focused on outcomes.
  • Contribute to the craft of product management at Octopus. You'll share what you learn, help shape our processes, and make product thinking stronger across the company.
  • We are looking for someone like you who :

  • Has multiple years of experience working on an Enterprise B2B product.
  • Is comfortable managing a technical product.
  • Can guide discussions with customers to uncover opportunities.
  • Has experience assessing opportunities and setting direction for the product / product area.
  • Has a highly collaborative approach and creates alignment within the organization across executives, decision-makers, and influencers.
  • Has worked closely with marketing, sales, or customer success teams to identify and prioritize changes that will unblock product adoption.
  • Understands software development lifecycles - web and cloud applications are ideal, and we will invest in growing your knowledge.
  • Loves technology and is excited by the potential to solve problems and shape the future.
  • Compensation :

Octopus has an internally open and transparent system for compensation. Any Octonaut can view the compensation for any role at any level. This ensures people doing the same work with the same skill get paid the same.

The compensation for this role is :

    Level 3 - Product Manager

    Maturing : $140k AUD / $150k NZD, Performing : $155k AUD / $165k NZD

Salaries exclude Super and KiwiSaver. Benefits include a minimum of 25 days annual leave, up to 10 days of paid sick and carers leave, 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave with flexible return options, and stock options. Learn more.

Below is the interview process you can expect for this role. We know interviewing can seem daunting, but rest assured we designed our process to move quickly while still getting you all the information you need.

Step 1 [30 60m] Introductory call with Talent Acquisition to discuss your background, the role, and answer questions.

Step 2 [1hr] Coffee chat interview with our Product Director to explore your experience, the shape of the role and the problems we're hoping to solve together, and how your skills might complement our mission.

Step 3 [1hr 40m] Team interview with a small cross-functional group (e.g. Technical Lead, Design Lead, Product Manager), where we explore a product you led / worked on in the past, and your experience in more depth. This is another chance to ask us questions on top of mind and learn from various perspectives and experiences of folks on the team.

We are looking for people who live and work in Australia and New Zealand to join our remote-first team. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for candidates outside of these countries.

Why working at Octopus is a great opportunity :

We offer great benefits, including generous laptop and home office allowances, plus stock options!

We value transparency and fairness in every aspect of our business. For example, our SVP of Finance shares monthly updates on company performance, and our pay structures are designed to pass the 'printer test'.

Trust and autonomy. Octonauts are treated like adults and are trusted to find the best way to work for the task at hand without managers looking over their shoulder.

You'll be joining a high-growth company with numerous opportunities to learn and advance your career.

We are a supportive company where everyone's contribution is valued.

We respect and encourage work / life balance.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
