About The Position

Description :

Looking for a strong charge / preceptor RN.

Unit consists of 27 beds.

Certifications needed include BLS and ACLS.

Chemotherapy certification is a bonus.

Patient ratios are 1 to 5 for MedSurg and 1 to 4 for chemotherapy / telemetry patients.

Electronic medical record system is Cerner.

Charge nurses do not take patient assignments.

There is a resource nurse available to assist with tasks and breaks.

Target for nurse aides is two per shift.

One weekend shift is required every two weeks.

There are two major holidays and one minor holiday requirement.

Scrub color is navy.

Remote telemetry monitoring is supported.

There are no ventilators on this unit.

Hospitalists are available in-house 24 / 7.

If placed on standby or call, must report within 30 minutes.

There is no dedicated IV team, but a resource nurse can assist.

PICC and midline insertions are managed by a specialized team.

Respiratory therapy is available 24 / 7.

Pharmacy services are also available 24 / 7.

No call is required.

Shifts available include 7 AM and 7 PM.

Nurses may float to other MedSurg units.

Floor-specific orientation includes one shift for Cerner if needed and two shifts on the units.

Common diagnoses and types of patients include general medical / surgical cases, GYN issues, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and some spine and joint surgeries.

Patients do not need to be on active chemotherapy but may have a history of it.

Preference is for nurses who have experience with Cerner and demonstrate strong central line expertise and a commitment to compassionate patient care.

Nurses should enjoy teaching and spending quality time with their patients.

Cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
