Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Austin, TX 78704 – Central Texas healthcare jobs in a vibrant city

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Travel RN contract)

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1360–$1460

Unit : 34-bed Surgical Oncology / Medical-Surgical with continuous telemetry monitoring

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6

Scrub Color : Navy

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (required for Texas travel nursing jobs)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg or Telemetry RN experience

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred : Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Preferred : Chemotherapy certification

Proficiency with MediTech EMR and telemetry equipment (GE Telemetry Monitoring, Welch Allyn Vital Signs)

Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Travel Tele RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy surgical oncology / medical-surgical unit

Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, promptly respond to changes in patient condition

Administer medications, including chemotherapy (if certified), and perform both routine and advanced nursing procedures

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, patient care technicians (PCTs), and physicians

Accurately document patient care using MediTech EMR

Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive clinical environment

Participate in unit initiatives and contribute to a positive, team-focused nursing culture
