SUMMARY : Lead the Spot Buy team while developing and executing tactics consistent with initiatives policies, procedures and resources to achieve branch goals and the company’s mission and plan. The goal is to keep the department running in an efficient and profitable manner, to increase customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention and to meet their expectations.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Responsible for promoting culture of safety
- Broad knowledge of company procedures, work instruction, and specific software (P21, Acclaim, etc.)
- ISO : Engage the ISO process. Implement and follow the BlackHawk ISO process
- Lead and manage Spot Buy team activities to complete assigned work on time and error free.
- Collaborate with National Accounts and field personnel.
- Understand current sourcing activities then design and develop complete sourcing practices and processes.
- Develop tools that can aid in improving accuracy and speed of RFQ completion and implementation.
- Develop and implement a cost savings tracker for contractual savings where required
- Identify cost savings opportunities and deliver on contractual customer cost savings goals where required
- Drive for continuous improvements over time for more efficiency and effectiveness across the team and the business.
- Analyze customer RFQs, clean up data to create accurate bills of materials and obtain quotes from suppliers.
- Identify multiple suppliers and substitutions to drive cost savings where possible.
- Assemble product information into quotation formats so profitability analyses can be performed.
- Provide updates to the customer on active RFQs regarding the status of open items and estimated timelines to drive completion.
- Assist in margin improvement efforts through analytics, data mining and ‘shopping’ existing pieces of business and obtaining best costs, etc.
- Create and maintain quote history including RFQs that are won and lost, leverage quote information to improve future quotation efficiencies.
