Description :

Unit Capacity : 36 Beds

Population Served : Stepdown / PCU.

Provides continuous Bipap, low-dose vasopressors, and care for trauma patients.

Manages lumbar drains and CIWA patients on higher doses of Ativan.

Handles cases involving hyponatremia, emergency dialysis patients, hyperkalemia, and antifreeze ingestions.

Cares for patients on home vents (trachs) and performs sheath removal.

Supports patients undergoing CEA and those diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis.

Administers Precedex and cares for stroke patients requiring Q2 neuro checks.

Handles stable craniotomies and fentanyl drips.

Ages of Patients Served : Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+)

Nurse to Patient Ratios : 3 : 1

Core Staffing Plan :

Variable staffing grid to include Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and Nurse Interns (NIs).

An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.
