Job Description and Duties

Golden Gate Communications Center (GGCC) is a public safety answering point. PSD’s answer 9-1-1 calls, public and allied agency calls, and make out-going calls to service providers, allied agencies and citizens. This classification requires a certified net typing speed of 40 words per minute.

Working Conditions

GGCC is on the 3 / 12 alternate work week with quarterly seniority shift and RDO sign ups.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a(n) Typing Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.

This position requires the ability to type at a minimum speed designated on the Classification Specifications (link available in the minimum requirements section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests :

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to appointment. To satisfy the minimum qualification requirement with education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s) / diploma for initial review. Original diploma or official, sealed transcripts will be required prior to the start date. Applicants with foreign transcript(s) / degree(s) must provide a third-party transcript / degree credential evaluation that indicates the number of units to which the foreign coursework is equivalent.

The CHP utilizes their own Public Safety Dispatcher certification list. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the Public Safety Dispatcher classification to be eligible to take the examination.
