Accounting Services ManagerThis position reports directly to the Controller for Bedrock Manufacturing Company, LLC ("BMC") and will oversee the Finance Shared Service team. Because this position heads a shared service group, there will also be dotted line reporting to the Accounting and FP&A teams which support the Filson and Shinola brands. This position currently supervises between 3 - 4 staff members with expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections. A successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills geared toward finding efficiencies in day-to-day processes in the realm of Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables. A desirable candidate should also have proven experience developing teams of individuals with diverse skill sets. Shinola and Filson are fast paced, growing companies so a candidate who can challenge current practices and make process improvements is essential. Strong communication skills are a must, as is the ability to work well as part of a growing team.ResponsibilitiesManage a team of three or four individuals responsible for AP, AR, and Disbursement Planning for Shinola, Filson, and the parent company, BMCManage the accounts payable function, including routing, coding, and entering vendor invoices into the ERP system (NetSuite)When strategically feasible, grow the team in anticipation of larger transactional volumes and increased project loadsWhere possible, implement third party solutions to automate the bill processing and bill-pay process, particularly as it relates to utilities and other recurring, or predictable billingsFind efficiencies and maximize best practices by leveraging expertise across brandsGenerate weekly vendor payment proposals using check, ACH and wire transfers; balancing the due date of invoices, cash flow restrictions and input from the business operation teamsWork closely with Operations, ex Procurement, Supply Chain, and Product Development, to ensure vendor relationships are maintainedEnsure timely collections of open receivables and frequent customer balance reconciliations for Wholesale accountsParticipate and Assist in the monthly close process and annual audits, including reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts and recording journal entries related to the receivables and payables functionContinuously improve accounting systems, controls, and proceduresQualifications7+ years of experience in a related field2+ years as a people leaderExperience with invoice processing systems (ex Bill.com, Concur, NetSuite Bill Capture)Preference given to individuals with NetSuite AP and AR management experienceStrong proficiency in Microsoft ExcelIntegrity, honesty, and high ethical standardsExcellent written and verbal skillsA quick learner and a problem solverDegree in accounting or finance is a plusNote : This job description is not meant to be all-inclusive.
