Key Position Details :

1.0 FTE

1 : 1 First Assist in busy practice

Flexible on schedule (4 10's with Wednesday off, or 5 8's M-F)

50 / 50 clinic / surgical cases

Join a team of 6 surgeons and 5 APPs

Largely reconstructive cases

Emphasis on breast reconstruction & microsurgery

Job Description :

Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a Physician / Physician Assistant team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.

Principle Responsibilities

Provides clinical care for patients

Completes comprehensive patient assessments.

Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.

Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.

Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.

Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.

Refers for specialty care when determined.

Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program

Preferred Qualifications

Surgical experience. Will consider new grads

Licenses / Certifications

Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire

ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days

Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) required upon hire

Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire

Pay Range

Pay Range : $55.24 to $76.43 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and / or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
