Senior Property Accountant

Maverick Search Partners is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a leading real estate investment trust (REIT) committed to transforming workspaces and fostering inclusive, high-performing teams. We're seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their real estate accounting team. This role supports property management operations by owning monthly closings, maintaining accurate financial records, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure timely, transparent reporting.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage full-cycle general ledger activity for a portfolio of commercial properties using MRI
• Prepare and review entries for straight-line rent, AR allowances, depreciation, leasing costs, prepaid rent / insurance, and property tax accruals
• Maintain monthly closing checklists, supporting documentation, and account reconciliations
• Review AP, cash receipts, and fixed asset entries prepared by other team members
• Partner with property managers to review accruals, budget variances, forecasts, and operating expense recoveries
• Support audit requests and contribute to broader accounting initiatives as needed
