Title : Communications Consultant 3 (Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) / English)
Duration : 9 months contract Schedule : 3 days onsite and 2 days work from home Location : Charlotte, NC 28269 Pay rate : $47 / hr on w2
NOTE : Candidate is only expected to bill for 35 hours a week. 3 days in office are mandatory. Days are flexible but should be consistent week to week. For example, if they choose to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, they are expected to keep that schedule. Team members work 8-hour work days within the hours of 8 AM to 6 PM EST. This position is expected to align with traditional East Coast hours.
Job Description :
Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Communications and contribute to large-scale planning related to Communications deliverables. Review and analyze moderately complex Communications challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Communications deliverables while leveraging a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with client personnel in Communications. Required Qualifications :
4+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations, or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education. In this role you will :
Translate, review, proof, and validate content in context while adhering to strict style guides, terminology, deadlines, and procedures. Conduct post-translation review and spot-checking for language accuracy and consistency, report defects, and verify fixes. Respond to client feedback, analyze legal and / or compliance feedback, act as a liaison to settle pending issues, and verify feedback implementation by vendors. Address linguistic queries and consultations daily from internal clients and vendors. Maintain linguistic assets (e.g., Glossary, Style Guide). Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed. Additional Qualifications :
2+ years of Management consulting, Strategy Consulting, or Business Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through similar experience. 4+ years of translation industry experience. Bilingual proficiency in Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) / English in speaking, reading, and writing. Desired Qualifications :
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong project management and problem-solving skills. 4+ years as a professional translator and editor or proofreader, translating and reviewing marketing, finance, legal, and banking materials targeting Chinese-speaking audiences. 3+ years of experience translating and transcreating creative content such as marketing and public relations communications. Expertise in emotionally connecting and culturally appropriate transcreating for Chinese audiences. Bachelor's degree in Chinese translation or linguistics. ATA certification. Diplomatic and professional approach to feedback and critiques. Ability to collaborate virtually and develop effective relationships with internal clients and external vendors. Ability to multitask and prioritize in deadline-driven environments. Adaptability, flexibility, attention to detail, and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn. Experience with CAT tools (e.g., Wordfast, Studio, SDLX, Trados, MultiTerm), Adobe Acrobat, translation management systems (SDL TMS, WorldServer), and online resources. Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations.
