Job descriptionEvaluate and treat walk-in patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and urgent but non-emergent conditions Perform basic procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, and abscess management Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics including labs, X-rays, and EKGs Prescribe medications and manage short-term treatment plans Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff for escalations, transfers, or referrals as needed Educate patients and families on follow-up care, prevention, and appropriate use of urgent care versus emergency services Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and state regulations Previous urgent care, emergency, or high-volume primary care experience required Must be skilled in suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound management Experience managing diverse patient populations across all ages Ability to order and interpret labs, imaging, and EKGs independently Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required Proficiency with Meditech EHR preferred Strong adaptability and communication skills Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities Whether you need long term coverage for your practice, short term vacation coverage, or anything in between – you can trust Barton Associates to provide the flexible staffing solutions your organization needs to thrive. About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Oregon. This opportunity begins on Dec 8, 2025, and spans 120 days, featuring a rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week between 9a and 7p across three clinics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in urgent care procedures and thrive in a fast-paced, community-based environment.
