PCU Travel Nurse Job Details
Location : Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
Unit : 15 East – Acute Leukemia and Hematology (No Chemo Certification Required)
Job Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract (PCU RN)
Shift : Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)
Hours per Week : 36
Assignment Length : 16 weeks (Start : 12 / 1 / 2025 – End : 3 / 23 / 2026)
Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,940 - $1,990
Orientation : First week Mon-Fri dayshift; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
Self-Scheduling : Requests accommodated before finalizing schedule
Weekend Coverage : Variable, based on unit needs
Float Requirement : May float to other MedSurg Oncology units
PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in PCU, Progressive Care, or related specialty (PCU nurse jobs)
Previous travel nursing experience required
Active compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association preferred)
NIHSS certification preferred
Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system
Two professional references required (one from a manager / director or formal leadership)
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematology diagnoses
Administer blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte therapies
Implement infection prevention and patient fall protocols
Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias
Manage central and peripheral lines, including PICC line care and blood draws
Initiate and maintain IV therapy and perform phlebotomy
Respond to rapid response team activations as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
Document patient care accurately using the EPIC charting system
Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as required
