We are seeking an experienced Urologist for a 248-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Dec 1, 2025. This opportunity features a Monday through Friday schedule, with clinic days on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and operating room days on Tuesday and Thursday. On-call coverage is required during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The assignment involves a high percentage of direct patient care, including clinic and surgical services for urological conditions. Prior urology experience and active board certification are required. Job Details Location : California Start Date : Dec 1, 2025 LOA : 248 days Provider Type Needed : Urologist Schedule : Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 AM – 4 : 00 PM; clinic days on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; OR days on Tuesday and Thursday; on-call coverage Monday through Friday (4 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM), weekends and holidays (24-hour call from 7 : 30 AM – 7 : 30 AM) Responsibilities and Duties Provide direct patient care for urology patients, including clinic visits, surgeries, consultations for outpatient and inpatient care, cystoscopies, and other related procedures Deliver pre-operative, post-operative, and follow-up care as well as emergency urological consultation as required Conduct specialty examinations related to urological conditions, such as compensation and pension and agent orange exams Communicate all test results to providers and patients in compliance with VHA Directive 1088 and promptly respond to critical results Follow established medication policies; do not provide sample medications to patients Provide discharge education and coordinate follow-up instructions with the next care setting for all urology patients Complete required administrative duties including progress notes, surgery scheduling, morbidity and mortality meetings, and patient contact Ensure timely patient care in accordance with VA clinic wait times and consult completion regulations Utilize the CPRS electronic medical record system for documentation Additional Information Must have an active license to practice medicine in any state Board certification in Urology is required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required Minimum 2 years of urology experience strongly preferred Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
