Description

SUMMARY

Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas
  • Vaults household goods into designated containers
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers.
  • Assembles customer orders from racking and prepares orders for delivery out.
  • Assist in receiving customer items into warehouse.
  • Pad wraps furniture items
  • Receives household good shipments into the warehouse
  • Repairs vaults and lift vans as needed
  • Help as needed on both the household and logistics end of warehouse shipments.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Maintain warehouse free from trash and comply with safety and OSHA standards.
  • Must wear uniforms acceptable to the Company.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess and maintain a current forklift certification, if operating forklift at any time.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
