Department Details

Our acute therapy environment is dynamic and team-oriented, providing the chance to rotate through various units and engage with a range of patient diagnoses including pulmonary, surgical / trauma, cardiology, renal, ortho, neuro, oncology, general medical, and ICU. We welcome new graduates!

Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapist, you will assess residents and patients, implementing treatments that help them develop, maintain, and recover vital skills needed for daily living. Individuals who excel at Good Sam and Sanford are typically excellent communicators, compassionate, and enjoy interpersonal interactions. In this role, you may also supervise assistants, aides, and students as they deliver care and collaborate with providers, case managers, family members, and others.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and provide interventions for residents and patients.
• Evaluate abilities of residents / patients and establish realistic therapy goals.
• Document patient information for evaluations and therapeutic plans.
• Provide education to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
• Incorporate knowledge of current research into daily treatments.
• Offer ongoing education and training to peers in areas of expertise.
