Chief Financial Officer
Custom Capital — Remote (U.S.)
About Us
Custom Capital is a vertically-integrated commercial real estate origination platform that connects high-net-worth investors with institutional-quality Absolute NNN (triple net lease) investment opportunities nationwide.
We're not a broker. We're not a developer. We function as a shared family office—sourcing deals, performing full due diligence, assembling equity, coordinating financing, and managing every step from LOI to close. Our members get 100% ownership of cash-flowing commercial properties with truly zero landlord responsibilities.
Operating remotely with a tech-driven platform, we outpace traditional brokers with faster execution, better terms, and institutional-grade processes. Our investments range from $2M–$25M, and we've experienced 200–300% YOY growth with over $350M in transactional value expected this year.
We're building an elite team to match our ambitions.
The Role
We're looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead our Infrastructure Stack and build the financial backbone that supports Custom Capital's rapid growth. This is a strategic executive role for a finance leader who can build institutional-grade financial operations while partnering with the CEO and COO to scale the business.
You'll own the Infrastructure Stack—Accounting, Finance, GRAC (Governance, Risk, Assurance & Compliance), Data & Automations, and I / T & Cybersecurity. You'll build financial infrastructure, establish governance frameworks, and provide the strategic financial leadership that enables Custom Capital to transition from our 2025 Foundations Year through the 2026 Build Year and into our 2027 Scale Year.
This role reports directly to the CEO and serves on the Executive Leadership Team alongside the COO and CRO.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Infrastructure Stack : Own and develop the entire Infrastructure Stack—Accounting, Finance, GRAC, Data & Automations, and I / T & Cybersecurity. Build the operational backbone that supports all business functions.
- Build Financial Operations : Establish institutional-grade financial infrastructure including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation. Create the systems that support $350M+ in annual transactional value.
- Drive Strategic Planning : Partner with CEO and COO on financial strategy, capital planning, and growth initiatives. Translate strategic vision into financial plans and resource allocation.
- Establish GRAC Framework : Build and oversee Governance, Risk, Assurance & Compliance functions. Ensure Custom Capital operates with institutional-quality controls as we scale.
- Oversee Deal-Level Economics : Ensure clear understanding of transaction economics, revenue recognition, and profitability. Provide financial visibility into deal performance and departmental metrics.
- Lead Board Reporting : Prepare quarterly and annual Board materials. Present financial performance, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors.
- Manage Capital & Treasury : Oversee cash management, capital allocation, and treasury functions. Ensure Custom Capital maintains appropriate liquidity and capital efficiency.
- Coordinate Data & Technology : Partner with Data & Automations and I / T teams to build KPI dashboards, automate reporting, and ensure data integrity across the organization.
- Build the Team : Hire and develop Finance, GRAC, and supporting functions. Create infrastructure for efficient financial operations as transaction volume scales.
