American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Labor and Delivery Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 24 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring strong circulating skills and high-volume birth experience. Responsibilities Work in a busy Labor & Delivery hospital setting with 20 rooms Patient population includes obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, and high-risk patients under 16 weeks 2 : 1 nurse-to-patient ratio, with up to 20 births in 24 hours and 30-40 daily admissions Unit is high-acuity and very fast-paced, performing scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage 12-hour night shifts from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15, with every other weekend and minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule Floating required as needed, including to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit or affiliate hospital No on-call required Epic EMR and Pyxis medication systems are used Unit orientation is 24 hours Scrubs are provided in blue Provide comprehensive intrapartum, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care, including triage, fetal surveillance, IV hydration, and medication administration Care for high-risk maternity cases and perform routine outpatient procedures Required to float to similar units as needed based on hospital census and needs Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment First time travelers accepted if experienced in large, high-volume settings Travel pairs are allowed if assigned to different units Fatigue policy prohibits working more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles will receive the local pay rate Candidates with prior employment at specific health systems must wait 12 months before applying No RTO allowed during the first week; auto-approval for up to 7 days of RTO if not during holidays Requirements Active NC or compact state RN license in hand by start date (pending is acceptable for consideration) Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience, 3 years preferred Basic Life Support (BCLS), AWHONN Intermediate, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are required Experience performing circulating duties in the OR, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care Comfortable working in high-volume, high-acuity L&D settings Epic charting experience required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625507.
