Special Education Teacher

Position : Special Education Teacher (Mod / Severe)

Position Details : This position will be working with elementary grades 2-4.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

• Ability to build good relationships with children, parents, Teachers and Social Workers
• Ability to work 1 : 1 or in small groups with students
• Ability to work well with children from different backgrounds who have different abilities
• Well-organized and self-driven to devise and adopt new techniques for teaching and keeping the student(s) on task
• Ability to manage challenging behavior
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Compassionate, kind and patient with kids
• Excellent leader and mentor for students
• Strong attention to detail and an inquisitive mind to understand each individual student
• Ability to assist students in meeting their academic goals as set forth in the IEP.
