The Self-manufacturing Department has an opening for a Senior Manager, Quality Assurance. This position will be located in Pleasanton CA or at one of our divisional offices based in the San Francisco-Bay area, Los Angeles, Denver, Portland, Phoenix, Boise or Seattle.
The salary range is $130,000 to $160,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Ensure that quality, product safety, plant sanitation, customer-specific, and regulatory standards are continuously met to maintain brand confidence
- Direct supervision of plant Quality Assurance Managers (several sites) and their teams, including : training, coaching, and development.
- Train and mentor plant personnel in food safety and quality principles, such as : FSMA, cGMPs, SPC, HACCP, and sanitation and monitor compliance through audits and KPI monitoring
- Document standards, specifications, and procedures, and monitor for compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve quality problems using root cause analysis tools.
- Keep all levels of management informed regarding issues associated with product performance, safety and compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure food safety and quality standards are continuously met across the organization
- Must be able to make product acceptance decisions regarding performance and safety and lead market removal actions when necessary
- Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components including investigation and disposition of nonconfirming product.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality assurance processes.
Minimum Qualifications :
4-year college degree in Food Science or related scientific field is required.5 years of experience in a food processing plant at the supervisory level or above in quality assurance or related role is required.3 years of experience in training and implementation of HACCP or FSMA food safety plans, SQF or BRC, vendor qualification, and customer requirement auditing.Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the U.S. and up to 60%Experience in at least one of the following food manufacturing sectors : beverages, USDA ready to eat foods, acidified foods, Grade A dairy, ice cream, and bakingPreferred Qualifications :
