Job description
Receptionist - Part-Time (3-6 p.m., M-F)

Position Purpose: The receptionist is a person who has critical thinking skills and is responsible for the building access during work hours. The receptionist answers phones, directs calls, greets and directs visitors and staff, and assists with general office support as needed.
Reports To: Operations Manager

Essential Job Functions
  • Answers telephone calls and provides information and assistance to callers.
  • Provides assistance to managers and security staff.
  • Greets visitors and directs them to their proper destination.
  • Performs various clerical tasks such as coordinating room reservations, scheduling meetings, mailings, typing reports, distributing mail, maintaining logs, and preparing general internal and external communication.
  • Monitors security systems or procedures.
  • Participates in safety committee meetings.
Additional Duties
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications, including Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve job related issues.
  • Must be accurate and timely in preparation of work.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
  • Work in standard office and school building environments.
Qualifications Profile
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years general office procedures a must.
  • Bilingual preferred.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
