Production Supervisor
Location : Chaska, MN
Reports To : Operations / Plant Manager
Schedule : 8–10 hour shifts (some flexibility and occasional overtime required)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced, regulated environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who drives productivity, safety, and quality, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Direct daily production activities to ensure customer orders are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Conduct daily shift meetings to communicate goals, progress, and priorities.
- Monitor workflow to identify and remove bottlenecks, maintaining continuous line operation.
- Track performance against production metrics and take corrective action as needed.
- Maintain strong floor presence—observe, coach, and motivate team members to achieve results.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Culture
Promote and uphold a “lean action” mindset across all processes.Apply lean manufacturing tools and principles to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.Implement and sustain 5S practices (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).Use metrics and KPIs to identify performance gaps and drive improvement plans.Ensure all SOPs and Work Instructions are current, trained, and consistently followed.Safety, Quality, and Housekeeping
Ensure all safety policies and OSHA standards are strictly followed.Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment through routine inspections.Verify that sanitation, cleaning, and maintenance processes are executed and documented.Lead by example in maintaining a safe, efficient, and quality-driven operation.Leadership & Team Development
Supervise 5–6 lead employees overseeing 15–35 hourly staff and temporary workers.Recruit, train, and retain high-performing team members aligned with company values.Coach and mentor employees to support growth, engagement, and accountability.Conduct timely performance evaluations and address performance issues appropriately.Maintain accurate employee documentation and support career development planning.
