Security Officer

Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Perform proactive monitoring and timely responses to potential / actual security threats. Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards. Maintain knowledge and follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency / disaster preparedness plans. Train and mentor staff on environment of care and emergency management processes and procedures. Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety. Provide traffic and parking enforcement within campus area and participate in foot and vehicle patrols. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Operate vehicle in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

Licensure / certification / registration : Drivers License credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date required. Wisconsin Concealed Weapons License (CCW) to be obtained within 90 days (3 months) of hire date or job transfer date required. One or more of the following preferred : BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Law Enforcement. Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc. Security Professional. Education : High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note : Required professional licensure / certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional preferences : Would be required to maintain training certifications. Requirements - Valid Driver's License (clear driving record). Valid Wisconsin Concealed Carry License or eligibility for Wisconsin Concealed Carry License within 90 days of hire. Prior applicable Security experience, Law Enforcement experience, Military experience, or degree preferred. A two-week Security training academy (Monday to Friday) must be successfully completed during the probationary period after hire. The training academy will be in Milwaukee or Racine. All Officers required to carry Taser, baton, pepper spray, and handcuffs.
