Position Summary :

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) assists the Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients in our subacute rehabilitation unit. The PTA provides hands-on care, supports patient mobility, monitors progress, and communicates effectively with the therapy team to optimize functional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

Implement physical therapy treatment plans as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.

Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and mobility training.

Monitor and document patient progress, response to therapy, and any adverse events.

Educate patients and their families on exercises, safe mobility, and adaptive techniques.

Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, including equipment setup and maintenance.

Collaborate closely with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, nursing staff, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.

Participate in team meetings, patient care planning, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications :

Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Florida.

CPR certification required; BLS preferred.

Experience in subacute, post-acute, or rehabilitation settings preferred.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting, transferring, and supporting patients.

Working Conditions :

In-house subacute rehabilitation facility.

Full-time position; flexible shifts may be required.

Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
