This position is located at our Charlotte, NC headquarters and requires working onsite Monday through Friday during normal business hours (with occasional flexibility).
Position Summary As a qualified Laboratory Scientist, you will join our team of Metrology Specialists creating Reagent components (standards, controls, proficiency testing materials) that our client labs use to test their patient samples - saving both the company and our clients' money. We calibrate, test, and analyze material performance to ensure that the evaluated material meets requirements for precision, performance, and accuracy.
Basic duties may include Create LCMS Validation materials (Sample Comparison, Matrix Effects, Interference Study) Create Stocks, Calibrators, and QC used on the LCMS.
Create Internal Standards Create Specialty / Custom recipes and mixes (Cal, QC, ISTD, and Stocks) for clients.
Manufacture validation materials and controls for Molecular and Infectious Disease panels.
Maintain Quality documents for the laboratory.
Run lot to lot verification on new lots of reagents.
Create COA for each lot of controls.
Create Custom ALT PT samples.
Equipment maintenance and calibration.
Extract RNA / DNA using automated methods.
Order supplies for the laboratory, handle all shipments of standards from the lab.
Collaborate with the Quality and DA / DR teams to ensure standards are passing.
Lot tracking of stock materials.
Ordering and keeping record of standards and assays materials.
Updating internal recipes, COAs, Product Inserts.
Filing recipes, quality documents, packing slips, COAs of standards and assay materials.
Shipping of all Standards and Assays.
Participate in the instruction and training of others.
Minimum Qualification Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Laboratory Sciences or other closely related scientific discipline.
Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience within a clinical laboratory.
Previous experience creating Reagents for Toxicology testing is preferred but not required.
Precision pipetting skills are a must!
Certificate(s) and / or License(s) Medical Technologist Certification preferred.
