About the Role :
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer with a strong background in data center operations to join our team in Phoenix, AZ . In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems that ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of mission-critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, program, and commission Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) for data centers.
- Develop and maintain control logic, sequences of operation, and integration with HVAC, electrical, and fire protection systems.
- Collaborate with design engineers, contractors, and operations teams to ensure controls meet project specifications and operational requirements.
- Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for control system issues.
- Support commissioning and testing of new systems and retrofits.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain documentation including control drawings, network diagrams, and system configurations.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance staff.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.3+ years of experience in controls engineering, with at least 2 years in a data center or mission-critical environment.Proficiency with BMS / EPMS platforms such as Schneider Electric, Siemens, Honeywell, or Johnson Controls.Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, and industrial automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, etc.).Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems is a plus.Familiarity with commissioning processes and documentation (Level 1-5).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
