Electrical Superintendent
Location : On-site in Sterling, VA and / or Washington, DC
A leading electrical contractor operating at the forefront of the mission-critical and commercial construction industries is seeking a seasoned Electrical Superintendent to lead onsite operations for high-impact data center builds in the DMV area. This is a pivotal role within a high-growth organization focused on innovation, safety, and delivering excellence in complex power distribution systems. The Superintendent will serve as the boots-on-the-ground leadership presence, managing teams and trade partners to drive quality and timely results on technically sophisticated projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Direct daily field operations, overseeing skilled electrical crews across various project phases.
- Coordinate material deliveries, task scheduling, and subcontractor activity to ensure timelines and productivity goals are met.
- Enforce compliance with NEC and all relevant safety regulations and site protocols.
- Conduct quality checks, site walks, and electrical inspections to maintain installation standards and identify any rework needs.
- Contribute technical knowledge on the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of large-scale power systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, and controls.
- Collaborate with project management to provide progress updates, flag potential delays, and assist in planning.
- Train and develop journeymen and apprentices, modeling safety-first and precision-driven workmanship.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites that support efficient work and reinforce safety culture.
- Support accurate tracking of labor hours, materials, and productivity through documentation and reporting tools.
- Coordinate with other trades to align work scopes and avoid conflicts during overlapping activities.
Skills & Experience Required :
10+ years of commercial or industrial electrical construction experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.Proven background managing field operations for data centers or similar mission-critical facilities.Deep working knowledge of the NEC, local electrical codes, and best practices for installation and commissioning.Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.Proficient with construction management platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.).OSHA 30 and CPR certification required.Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent experience) strongly preferred.Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams.Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt in fast-moving environments.Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.Physical Requirements & Work Conditions :
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and navigate active construction sites for extended periods.Must be comfortable working in elevated, confined, and physically demanding environments.Role may involve evening, weekend, or overtime hours to meet project milestones.Why Join This Team?
